Measurement Tips

Bring arms to your sides, place tape measure under your arms
and run it around the fullest part of the bustline.

Locate the natural crease of your waist by bending to one side. Loop the tape measure around
your natural waistline, keeping one finger between the tape and your body for an easy fit.

Place feet together, loop the tape measure around the fullest part of your hips,
approximately 7 inches below your waistline.

The Checklist

The Pregnancy List

A few years ago, I made a master excel sheet for my close friends of all the things and tips I wanted and needed during my pregnancy and for the first year with a new baby.  It's a big checklist based on my personal experience and research in combination with recommendations from mothers that I trust.  Seeing how helpful it's been for so many of the women I love, I wanted to share it with you too.

We're starting with pregnancy, but feel free to check out the entire list here, which includes everything for the first year with a new baby.  Every pregnancy journey (and baby) is unique so take what is helpful and leave the rest.  And, as always, you should consult with your own doctor before taking anything that goes on or in your body.  Enjoy!

Prenatal Multivitamin

A great, easy prenatal option without artificial colorants or synthetic fillers.  I didn't know this during my first pregnancy, but it can be helpful to start your prenatal up to 6 months before you conceive and to stay on it for as long as you're breastfeeding.

The Foundation: Prenatal
$130 per month

This is another option if you're interested in extra clean, bioavailable and whole food ingredients.  There are several pills in this pack that you take with breakfast or lunch, which can be challenging if you're experiencing intense nausea.  Personally, I loved taking these but temporarily switched to Ritual during the months I was the most nauseous.

These apps are all pretty cheesy but helpful to have to get a sense of what's happening with your body and baby throughout your pregnancy.

There are endless pregnancy books so I'm only including a few of my favorites here.  Nurture is a calm, non-judgmental guide that holds your hand through each stage of pregnancy and birth.  It almost reminded me of therapy in the best way.  Consider ordering books from Bookshop as opposed to Amazon to support independent bookstores <3

Expecting Better

Expecting Better cuts through the opinions and unsolicited advice to provide a data-driven approach to decision making during pregnancy (ie. coffee, sushi, wine etc).  Consider ordering books from Bookshop as opposed to Amazon to support independent bookstores <3

Morning Sickness Blend

I had terrible nausea with both of my pregnancies and have tried everything.  Nothing made it go away but these seemed to make the most difference of all the herbal things I tried.  It's a great option for anyone who can't tolerate tea when they are nauseous.

Your boobs may change sizes several times during pregnancy and postpartum. I didn't want to buy new bras during pregnancy and then again for breastfeeding so I started a lot of these early (they also felt the most comfortable especially towards the end of my pregnancies).
